InspireMe LabDays

Lab Days

These events take place twice a year in order to educate and inspire staff and clients so they have a deeper knowledge on the chosen topic.  The day is run conference style with leading industry experts presenting and joining panels. In the twelve weeks leading up to the Lab day, the team meets as many relevant companies as possible to find the perfect fit for these new partners to join the exhibitor area on the day.

Lab Lunches

Throughout the twelve weeks of sourcing new Lab partners of choice industry for the Lab day, we host Lab Lunches bi-weekly. Here the partner will come into the agency during lunch, and in 30 minutes give Ogilvy creatives, account managers and anyone else who is keen to learn a rundown of their company. The idea is that by being introduced to these companies, someone might be inspired to try something new or different on their client work.

Lab Reports

Ogilvy Labs represent at various conferences and events all over the world each year to ensure our agency is not only keeping up with the latest technology and innovation trends, but also able to think ahead. For each event, we compile a Lab Report to summarise our findings for our agency, our clients and anyone else who wants to be kept in the loop!

Idea Shop is a pop-up agency by Ogilvy & Mather UK. Volunteers from across Ogilvy & Mather UK give up their own time to come and give free ideas to small businesses, charities, entrepreneurs and community projects. It’s our way of giving back whilst doing what we do best.

Silicon Roundabout Tours

Being in East London means that Silicon Roundabout, a hub for media and tech companies and start-ups, is right on our doorstep – and we would be fools to not make the most of East London’s answer to California’s Silicon Valley.  As another means of sourcing new Lab partners and inspiring Ogilvy employees, the Lab team has hosted three tours to Silicon Roundabout. As a result of one of the tours, Ogilvy Labs and It’s Nice That published Rory Sutherland’s first book http://www.thewikiman.co.uk.

Rock & Rule

The project was an attempt to pin down an increasingly elusive value proposition for retail spaces in London’s most fashionable areas, and presented a valid model for strategically integrated digital marketing. Ogilvy Labs sponsored the initiative as part of the Rough Diamond programme.


InspireMe MartinMorris

Martin Morris Life Drawing

Inspiration Days

The Labs team hires external business innovation companies to get fresh perspective, for example we brought in This Fluid World to host a workshop at the Ogilvy office to inject some inspiration into the office. Ogilvy staff of various levels came together to discuss how they see the future and how they plan on making that ideal goal attainable. http://thisfluidworld.com

The Open Data Institute Tour

In advance of the Big Data Lab Day, the Labs organized a tour of the Open Data Institute to see their “Data As Culture” exhibition. “Our maker culture is re-emerging, as evidenced not only in events around the world, but in the art commissions themselves: only one of the nine works is screen-based. This concept of the web ‘breaking through the glass’ and becoming part of our physical world could not be more timely, and significant, to the work of the Open Data Institute: to catalyse the evolution of an open data culture that creates economic, environmental, and social value.”

Level 39 Tour

Level 39, also based in Canary Wharf is headed up by Eric Van Der Kleij  where the aim is to “be the place where the world’s smartest startups, investors, and global business leaders meet tot shape the future, in an inspiring location in London’s Tech City.”
